About Us
IndigoStar Miniature Poodles is a small scale breeder located in North Texas. My dogs are my adored companions and competition partners first. I do not breed for the market, I breed when and if all the factors line up for the perfect pairing. Ethics, integrity, and hard-work are the basis of my program. All of my breeding prospects are health tested to CHIC standards and well beyond. My puppy raising practices embody the fundamentals that I believe in, setting my puppies up for a successful life via my extensive puppy raising protocols. I strive to produce greater generations of Performance dogs without losing the type and balance that make up a Poodle. Agility is my passion, I have competed at both the National and International levels. Our dogs can do it all; and as an avid competitor in Performance sports, I know what is needed for a performance dog and how important the "full picture" is. For those seeking overseas competitors or just natural fanciers, we do leave tails natural and always leave on dew claws.

Our dogs are AKC Miniature Poodles sold strictly with AKC Limited Registration. We do require spay or neuter between 12 to 36 months on dog's we produce. Currently, we have dogs competing in Agility, Scetwork, FastCat, and Rally, and are excited to see what our dogs are doing once our first litters grow up! We believe in proving and titling our breeding dogs, so look out for IndigoStar in a ring near you!!

In our “Fabulous 8” puppies born in March 2023, all 8 puppies went to Performance homes. I cannot wait to see what these puppies do alongside their person. Writing this in August of 2023; Scentwork, Agility, Rally, Barnhunt, Obedience, Dock Diving, and FastCat are just a few of the things these puppies are set out to do!

Behind the Name...
As for the name IndigoStar, it derives from the two dogs that started my passion for Miniature Poodles. "Indigo," inspired by my first Miniature Poodle, Indi, named after the Wild Indigo flower, who I got in 2016. Prior to getting Indi, I had owned Standard Poodles. Indi brought me to a new level in competition sports and showed me just how incredible Miniature Poodles are! January 5, 2018; by chance, or some will say divine intervention, Lyra and I found each other. Lyra is the inspiration for the "Star" portion of our kennel name. She has taken me on many grand adventures, and as her registered name implies, is my constant reminder to "Shoot For the Stars!" Lyra truly opened a whole bigger and better world for me. Lyra is co-owned with Suzi Cope and is my foundation bitch for IndigoStar Miniature Poodles. Many thanks to Lyra's breeder Estelle Kapsner of Safranne Poodles for mentoring me and producing such a phenomenal dog!
